Below are some more details WRITING WITH WINE: A CREATIVE WORKSHOP from 1 pm to 4 pm it will take place at Roscioli Do you find it difficult to describe a wine? I do.Frank Zappa has said, “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.” What if we replace “music” with “wine,” does it still hold true? Wine descriptions have become mandatory in fancy restaurants worldwide— a sign of sophistication, or perhaps snobbishness that leaves us disconnected from the experience. What if we approached wine differently? Instead of focusing on descriptors, we connect to the sensory experience of taste through our emotions, art, and personal memories. When we do this, wine stops being an object to describe and becomes a thread we use to weave stories, connect feelings, and create meaning. With the guidance of Jane and Leah, we’ll explore how our imagination can help us dig deep into our personal stories to find the origins of meaning. Together, we’ll use wine as a portal to tap into our creativity and find ways to retell.(* gricia pasta and selection of cured meats and cheeses) |
